Aloha e komo mai a Hale Waihola Puke o Kalaheo (welcome and come into the library of Kalaheo)
You are welcome to come inside, enjoy the library facilities, and use library resources for your academic needs. Library hours are from 7:30 to 3:00 on most school days. During your visit, please observe and carry out the following library procedures and policies:
* Sign-in at each arrival using your current student ID. Effective Tuesday, August 24th, all students must use their current school ID for all library activities.
* Bring a completed library pass during instructional time.
* Respect and maintain Kalaheo's quality library environment: Use library voices. No food, drinks, and gum.
* Be a self-directed learner: Plan and manage time and resources to achieve goals. Be responsible for and take care of library materials. Clean up and return materials in its proper place.
* Use computers for academic activity: No games, chat rooms, and personal emails. Show your ID to the librarian before each computer use. Save information and other digital products on a flash drive. Print wisely since additional copies of the same class assignment will cost 15 cents per page.
Thank you for your patience while we upgrade and improve some library features:
* The library catalog will be converted from Mandarin to Destiny. With Destiny, you will be able to access the catalog from home and any computer with Internet access. You will also be able to borrow electronic books (ebooks) with a login account (sign up to get a username and password with Mrs. Ongie). Are you tired of searching multiple websites or sorting through Google results for authoritative information? With Destiny, you will be able to search subscribed online databases and Kalaheo's library collection “all at once”.
* Stop by @ your library and check out “Kalaheo Picks”. Thank you, Mr. Murdock, for this suggestion. Do you want to be featured in your own "Read" poster? See Mrs. Ongie with your favorite book and/or favorite genre.
Student parking passes are still available for purchase. The cost is $20 per car and $10 per moped, for SY2010-11. Please see Mr. Wills in Room 9 for the application. Attention All Faculty, Staff & Students
I’m requesting for all Administration, faculty, staff and students to please support our school breakfast and lunch meals daily during the month of September. We need at least 80% or higher participation to retain our cafeteria staffing. With that in mind, my cafeteria staff will continue to provide other alternative meals that will be pre-made in a 3- compartment container starting as of September. The options will include salads, assorted sandwiches, nachos and our ala carte sales will be bottled water, juice, cookies, brownies and other baked products. So please, we don’t want to lose another cafeteria position.
